inspiration from dorothea lange

This was taken by Depression-era photographer Dorothea Lange. My favorite is the shot of the boy with tousled, dirt-blown hair crouching to fix the tire of the family car with an expertise that seems beyond his years.
The piece caught my eye because of of the size of the child in comparison with the tire - they are the same. Though children of this era were familiar with these tasks and expected to perform them, the scene in this photograph stands in sharp contrast to the world I know.

But maybe he is older than he looks.
