John | Waco senior photographer

Mirabelle photography had it's first birthday this February. Looking back through my portfolio since that time has been bittersweet. My earliest work is more surface and more about the angles and editing. Today it's about the person I'm seeing through my camera. My editing focuses on bringing light and clarity to their face - and what I choose to take photographs of attempts to show who they are, and who they want to be.
Putting up John's senior pictures this week made me realize how far I've come, and how my subjects are influencing me in awesome ways. John's beautiful tattoo is a statement that he will wear his entire life, and so much thought went into getting it. I wouldn't have even known he had it unless he hadn't started talking about his faith and involvement in St. Peter's student ministry at Baylor. That's the hardest aspect of photography, and definitely the best -identifying the spirit of who you are photographing in so little time, when truly knowing someone takes longer than a lifetime.
